If you want to run away from God, there is always a ship to take you there.

Every step away from God is a step-down.

Sin will always take you further than you want to go. It will keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you want to spend.

Hebrews 12:6-8
Because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.

Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Jonah 1:8-9
So they asked him, “Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” He answered, “I am a Hebrew, and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”

Do not mistake God’s provision for punishment.

The greater the anointing, the greater the breaking.

Jonah 2:1-7
From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. He said: “In my distress, I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead, I called for help, and you listened to my cry. You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me. I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight, yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. To the roots of the mountains, I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit. “When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.

“Pray and let God worry.” -Martin Luther

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

Jonah 2:8-9
Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, “Salvation comes from the LORD.”

Desperation leads to determination.

Idolatry or Worship

Worship begins before deliverance occurs.

When it’s painful, but you’re still thankful.

We are Jonah.

Jonah 2:10
And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

God will spit you out and into your destiny.
