Monthly Big Idea
Jesus is alive.
“I am alive for ever and ever!”
Revelation 1:18, NIV
Matthew 21:1-11, 15-16
People lay palm branches and coats on the road and shout, “Hosanna,” when Jesus rides into town.
Matthew 26:20-50; 27:1-2; 28:1-7; John 13:33; 14:1-3, 28
Some people hurt Jesus so badly that He died, but on the third day, Jesus returned, just like He said He would.
Breakfast on the Beach
After Jesus returns, He cooks breakfast for the disciples and spends time with them.
Jesus tells the disciples to go and tell everyone, everywhere, the good news that Jesus is alive.
Followers of Jesus become the Church and love one another by meeting, praying, and sharing together.
ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER
When you go into your child’s room, say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! When I count to three, let’s tell all of your toys that Jesus is alive. One, two, three . . . Jesus is alive!”
While on the go, name some different things you celebrate, like birthdays, school parties, and sports events. Talk about how Easter is when we celebrate Jesus.
Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, [name of child] and I want to celebrate Your Son, Jesus, because that’s what Easter is all about. Yay, Jesus!”
Celebrate Jesus on your way to bath time by waving your washcloth in the air and saying, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!” Keep the celebration going during bath time with some preschool praise music.
