1975
Three Rivers Christian Fellowship was started by Pastor John and Burnell Booko in 1975 with 15 families, a rented facility, some borrowed equipment, and a dream to be a church where honest relationships could be built with God and each other, through the work of the Holy Spirit.
1978
Pastor Paul Booko, Pastor John’s son, was ordained.
1979
In 1979 ten acres of land was purchased and on 6th Avenue and a building was constructed. An addition was added for offices and classrooms in 1987.
1981
On October 22, 1981, after prayer and counsel with Dan Wolfe, a change was made regarding John and Paul’s positions in the church, both of them received a promotion. Paul became the presiding elder, senior pastor, of the Fellowship and Pastor John was considered the senior co-elder and godly advisor to Paul.
Pastor John’s calling was to go beyond his local church as he would be available to share from his experience and teach in other churches.
